At Lenda Company we are characterised by our constant search for the best food for our dogs and cats through innovation and improvement of our recipes.
And in this process of constant improvement, our exclusive FAECs are born!
But… what are FAECs? What is their function? Why do they play such an important role in our recipes? We explain it to you!
*FAEC: Functional Aliments Exclusive Concentration
Simply and clearly, FAECs can be defined as the combination of ingredients and functional foods selected for their beneficial properties.
This union is the continuation of our holistic philosophy in which the combination of two ingredients manages to provide more than each of these ingredients individually.l.
In other words, in holistic nutrition, 2+2=5
By incorporating even more functional foods into our recipes, we not only nourish and feed dogs and cats, but we also substantially improve their quality of life.
Because we include our FAECs in their fair share, as their presence is more than considerable in our recipes, as they are incorporated with the aim of making a difference for dogs and cats. In order to understand it even better, it is important to differentiate between functional food and functional ingredient.
Functional food is considered to be any food that, in addition to its nutritional value, contains biologically active components that have an added, beneficial effect on health and improve well-being and quality of life.
Functional ingredients, on the other hand, are the source of these functional foods, which are extracted and incorporated for their beneficial properties. An example: a functional food would be turmeric and a functional ingredient would be curcumin. Here are their components and functions:

Faec Joints
FAEC for the care and improvement of the joint system composed of:
Chondroprotectors and MSM: essential in puppies, joint health will largely mark the quality of life of our dog. The contribution of chondroprotectors together with MSM, will offer a stable joint development, something essential in this important phase.
MSM: naturally occurring, it offers powerful anti-inflammatory, analgesic and plastic properties. Beneficial in the treatment of all joint problems,
Pomegranate (Punica Granatum): an effective aid in reducing oxidative stress, thanks to its polyphenols and flavonoids.
Devil’s claw (Harpagophytum procumbens): again, a powerful anti-inflammatory that is complemented by its antioxidant properties. An important support for joint care and development.

Faec Inmune
FAEC for the care and improvement of the immune system composed of:
Gingseng: if a functional food is capable of helping the liver, as well as stimulating the nervous system and the immune system, it has anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory properties, there is little more you could ask for.
Ginger: not only antioxidant or anti-inflammatory, it stimulates the nervous system, antibacterial… and also has very valuable digestive properties.
Pomegranate: if we are talking about immunological properties, its anti-parasitic properties are more than welcome.
Nettle: as a healing, diuretic and anti-inflammatory agent.
Green tea: against dermatitis, as an antioxidant, natural healing agent; these are the most common applications of this great immunopotentiator.
Turmeric: the curcumin it provides, together with the vitamins and antioxidants it contains, make turmeric a very special functional food. In addition, its digestive properties make it essential.
Devil’s claw (Harpagophytum procumbens): again, a powerful anti-inflammatory that is complemented by its antioxidant properties. An important support for joint care and development.
Micro-algae oil: all the well-known and recognised properties of omega-3 fatty acids, in this case with unparalleled bioavailability.Tomato and carrot: powerful natural antioxidant properties thanks to lycopene and beta-carotene.

Faec Digestive
FAEC for the care and improvement of the digestive system, consisting of:
Acerola: this fruit is a great source of vitamin C, but above all it provides tannins, which have a positive influence on the digestive process.
Bitter orange: again, vitamins and antioxidants but, above all, its astringent capacity favours stool stability.
Oregano: useful for eliminating digestive discomfort and involuntary muscle spasms affecting the digestive tract.
Thyme: very effective in combating gas.
Chamomile: a natural anti-acid. It is also a very powerful digestive anti-inflammatory and promotes bile secretion.
Lemon balm: helps digestion and is a natural relaxant. It offers a very pleasant citrus aroma for dogs and cats.Artichoke: great for combating cholesterol, it is also a diuretic and helps to treat skin problems.
FAEC ProbioInmune
Enterococcus faecium: Effective in preventing overgrowth of pathogenic microorganisms and improving intestinal immune response.
Lactobacillus plantarum: Improves intestinal microbiota and amino acid metabolism.
Lactobacillus fermentum: certain strains of this lactobacillus promote an increase in intestinal flora, improve the immune system and promote the development of beneficial microorganisms.Saccharomyces boulardii: especially useful in chronic enteropathies, where it is a great ally in the recovery and stabilisation of stool frequency and consistency, as well as improving physical condition.
FAEC ProbioDigestive
Enterococcus faecium: Effective in preventing overgrowth of pathogenic microorganisms and improving intestinal immune response.
Lactobacillus plantarum: Improves intestinal microbiota and amino acid metabolism.
Lactobacillus acidophillus: helps in the treatment of gastritis, Crohn’s disease and is effective in the treatment of diarrhoea.
Lactobacillus rhamnosus: effective in the prevention of diarrhoea due to gastroenteritis, food allergies, pathogen control and favours the development of other favourable bacteria.
In Lenda recipes we highlight our exclusive FAECs as they provide that extra health, well-being and quality of life that the nutrition of our dogs and cats needs.
